You need to calculate the total of your two cards that you were dealt and then make a decision. But, what decisions do you have? Here are the decision you have in a game of blackjack after viewing your two cards:
- You can choose to “stay”, which means that you have decided not to take another card from the dealer.
- You can choose to “hit”, which means that you want the dealer to hit you with one more card.
- There is a “Double” decision that allows you to double your betting amount after receiving your first two cards. When you do this, you double your bet and receive your card face down.
- The “Split” option is available to you if you receive two cards that are the same value. When you make this decision, you double your original bet by playing two hands.
In some blackjack games, there is a “Forfeit” decision. This means that you forfeit. When you do this, you give up half of the amount that you bet and opt out of playing your other hand. |
